What is an Area Development franchise contract?

A Blenz Area Development contract is defined as a group of stores, to be developed in a specific neighbourhood, city or region within a designated Development Area.

The qualified individual or corporation is awarded the right to develop and operate Blenz coffee shops in the defined development area during a specified development term and will enjoy exclusive rights to the development area while in compliance with the Area Development Agreement.

What do I need to be an Area Development Franchisee?

The individual or corporation best suited to a Blenz Area Development contract has the following characteristics:

• Possesses a proven, successful business background and track record.
• Must have already owned and operated another successful retail or service concept.
• Has a minimum of 10 years experience in direct management of people.
• A degree in business and/or marketing is helpful, although not required.
• Must possess excellent real estate connections (already has an established network of realtor and landlord associates).
• Must not have participated in any past litigious activities.
• Understands the value of following Blenz’ proven business and marketing systems.
• Willing to participate and complete all initial and ongoing Area Development training requirements to maintain Area Developer status.
• Independent enough once trained to execute the Blenz system and support others.

What are the capital requirements?

The minimum available cash required for Area Development will not be less than $1 Million (Cdn). The Area Developer (AD) must be willing to purchase rights to open a minimum of 10 stores with a pre-determined number of corporate stores to establish the defined Area prior to franchising the concept to others. Proven access to additional funds will be required to comply with the Area contract for the development and management of future stores. All contract terms and associated fees will be presented to you once you are deemed a fully qualified Candidate able to be awarded a Blenz Area Development contract.
